Introduction to Community and Disability Support Work

Interested in working as a community health support worker (youth support worker, case support worker, aged care or disability). Includes:

  • Communicate and work in health or community services
  • Skills to work effectively and appropriately with diverse people
  • Ethical behaviour and legal responsibilities
  • Responding to clients' needs, rights and interest
  • Understanding safe work practices and OH&s
  • Develop and implement service programs
  • Relationships with carers and families
  • Provide individual at home and/or community support services
  • Develop, implement and review aspects of case work
  • Supported decision making
  • Resumes, cover letter etc
